About Level 11 Fitness & Development

Level 11 Fitness & Development is a 24/7 gym where you can work out on your own or schedule a personal training session. We help people of all ages and needs improve themselves, from stress relief to rehab and fitness goals.


Owners Trent and Courtney Shaffer use a science-based approach to training, along with stressing the importance of good nutrition, to get real results. A dynamic husband-wife duo, they are both former athletes and opened their own gym in 2023 to share their passion for fitness with others.


As one of the areas premier fitness gyms, our 7,000-square-foot center is equipped with the most advanced cardio equipment, fitness machines and racks of free weights, as well as a 20-yard outdoor turf where you can flip tires, swing sledgehammers, push sleds and run through an agility course. There truly is something for every fitness level.

OUR SERVICES

A locally owned gym, we offer 24/7 access for working out on your own, plus personal training, cardio kickboxing classes, speed and agility training, sport-specific training and functional mobility.

24/7 Gym Access

Fitness should fit into your schedule, not the other way around. Early mornings, late nights or anytime in between—we are here for you. Feel confident working out at any hour with our top-level security system, using your secure access card.

Cardio Kickboxing Classes

Get fit, have fun and knock out your fitness goals at our cardio kickboxing classes that get real results. Taught by Courtney, who has a martial arts background, she created these 60-minute classes to offer a different type of workout using a combination of kick and hand punches along with a core workout.

Personal Training

More than just a workout, our personal training is a personalized journey that will help you identify and reach your fitness goals. Our certified personal trainers will guide you, motivate you and hold you accountable to keep you on track, so you’ll see faster, more noticeable results.

Small Group Training

For those who like to work out with a friend or spouse, our small group training consists of 2 to 4 people. You can both compete with and encourage others in the group in a more interactive setting.

Athlete Training

We are known as the place where athletes train. From football players, to volleyball players, to golfers, to weightlifters, our sport-specific training helps you excel at whatever sport you participate in. Our personal trainers are high school and collegiate coaches, and athletes themselves, so they know what it takes to succeed.

Functional Mobility

We offer functional mobility training to improve your strength and get you back to enjoying daily activities post physical therapy. We work within your physician’s restrictions to bring your strength back so you can return to play, return to work, or return to life.

MEET OUR TRAINERS

Trent Shaffer

As owner of a local insurance agency, Trent brings that same strong business acumen to Level 11 Fitness, along with a passion for health and wellness. A former football player, basketball player and track member, he has always prioritized fitness and now shares that love with others. Trent has been a successful and disciplined football coach for 20-plus years at many well-known institutions, including The College of Wooster, Cloverleaf High School, Triway High School, Wooster City Schools and Rittman High School. Currently, he is a Varsity Football Coach at Wadsworth High School.


Trent believes that sports training does not simply mean getting in a good workout. It is his passion and now his mission to show that training for your sport means focusing on your position and being physically fit to do so. With a unique approach to training, Trent trains his clients to bridge the gap between a structured fitness plan and being prepared to dominate in their sport's position.

In addition to training athletes, he also helps clients of all ages improve their well-being. Working one-on-one, he shows clients how to eliminate gym intimidation and gain confidence to grow both physically and mentally.

Courtney Shaffer

As a certified athletic trainer and licensed physical therapy assistant, Courtney helps clients of all ages achieve their fitness goals through strength training, nutrition and accountability. She is well versed in sport-specific training, post-surgical training and customized training for clients with specific health limitations. 


As a former softball player and experienced in martial arts, Courtney brings a multitude of fitness disciplines to her training approach. So whether you are looking to lose weight, gain weight, or need motivation and training to help reach your health and wellness goals, Courtney will create a personalized program for you.


She also hosts weekly Cardio Kickboxing Classes in the gym to offer a different type of workout using a combination of kick and hand punches along with a core workout.

Carson Kinney, CSCS

Carson Kinney joins us from The College of Wooster where he is the Director of Strength and Conditioning. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience working both in a collegiate setting and private training setting.


He has coached several All-Americans and has guided clients to meet their fitness goals and become better versions of themselves. Having also worked in a physical therapy clinic he uses this knowledge to focus on the whole body and recovery process. 



 Carson has over 8 years of hands-on experience and 7 years of academic learning, where he obtained two master’s degrees in Exercise Science and Strength and Conditioning. He is CSCS and CrossFit L1 Certified.

Tolan Shane

Working as a full-time strength and conditioning coach for the past decade, Tolan has trained athletes at every level—from youth to collegiate. His experience spans a wide range of sports, including football, basketball, baseball, softball, cheerleading, gymnastics, volleyball, soccer, wrestling, tennis, golf, track, cross country and swimming.

 

Driven by a passion for helping others reach their full potential, Tolan is committed to supporting individuals at all stages of their fitness journey. Whether you're just getting started or an athlete aiming to improve strength, speed or endurance, he’s excited to help you achieve your goals.

 

Tolan earned his master’s degree in Strength and Conditioning from the University of Akron in 2019, where he began his career as a strength coach for four years before moving on to Canton McKinley High School.

 

As a Wayne County native and alumni of Smithville High School, he is excited to work with people in his hometown! He currently is CSCS and RPR level 2 certified.

Cancellation:

Please note: A voided check is required at time of membership. Memberships are nonrefundable. A cancelation form must be completed 30 days in advance to cancel membership

CUSTOM TRAINING APP

We also offer online training through our custom app: $40/month

Online training can be done with or without a gym membership. We create a custom workout program for clients specific to their goals. The programs can be designed for three days a week or five to six days a week, depending on client preference. We check in with them at least weekly through the app and they can message us directly through the app.

Proudly displaying the American flag on our wall, along with the four military service flags, we thank those for their service by offering an American Hero Discount to all military personnel.

Student Packages

We want to install healthy lifestyle habits in children and show them how fitness is fun while improving their well-being. Students ages 14 to 23 are eligible to take advantage of our Student Packages:

EVENTS

Heart Walk

An annual event, every fall Level 11 Fitness, along with members of the community, participate in the Wayne County Heart Walk to help raise money for the American Heart Association.

Youth Speed, Agility & Stability Training

Offered throughout the year these classes help young athletes get to the next level. Our science-backed training methods help to build explosive power, dynamic movements and improve agility—which translate to all sports.

Advanced Athlete Training

Conducted year-round these advanced training programs have a sport-specific—and even position-specific—focus to help you excel in your sport through a more advanced speed, agility and stability training program.

  • What hours are the gym open?

    We are open 24/7 365 days a year.

  • Is the gym staffed?

    We have staff in the gym at select hours offering personal training and conducting classes, but it is not fully staffed 24 hours.

  • Do you offer personal training?

    Yes, we specialize in personal training, both in-person and online. Check out our free No Sweat Intro pass where you come in and work out with a trainer and get a better vibe for our gym.

  • What is included in your membership?

    24/7 access to the gym and all its fitness equipment.

  • Do you offer any online fitness training?

    Yes, as an add-on to our membership, we also have a custom app that is essentially like having a personal trainer in your pocket as we create workout programs for each member to meet their specific needs.

  • What type of equipment do you have?

    Our 7,000-square foot gym is equipped with racks of free weights, powerlifting weights, fitness equipment and machines, kickboxing equipment, tires, sledgehammers, sleds.
